I arrived at 3pm to a fairly short queue outside the LG Arena, people were queuing since 10am! The time passed and at 5pm we received our wristbands, Capital FM tried to get the crowd hyped (but we already were!). The doors finally opened at 6:30pm and I raced to the front of the stage, now the waiting began…
As the crowds built, so did the atmosphere. Finally, Calvin Harris came on stage, his dance beats and deep bass got the crowds dancing! He finished his set with We Found Love, the crowd went crazy!
Now everyone was waiting for Rihanna, then the lights dimmed, and the Intro began, along with the screams! Then the doors opened and out came Rihanna, I went mental, she was right in-front of me, I could see her clearly! The crowds were screaming along to Only Girl! As the set continued everyone was saying how amazing she was and she sounded absolutely amazing!
Then, a moment I thought would never happen happened, she climbed down the stairs, and came right pass me, giving me a Hi 5!!! I was screaming so loud the people around me were probably thinking they wanted me to shut up! The she played the drums (which was so cool) came back around and gave me another Hi 5! It was the best moment of my life…
Rihanna continued with the crowds singing along, then during Cheers, she came across to me and started looking at me whilst singing the song, then saying “those guys right there” pointing at me and my friends! I dont think I could take anymore, my voice never screamed so much!
The set came to an end, the crowds sang Take A Bow, and then Rihanna sang Umbrella, the red and gold paper shreds were falling all around me (I took some home as a memory), and she turned around, gave the crowd one more wave, and went under the stage…
My first time seeing Rihanna will be a memory for life, she has such an amazing talent (and really soft hands). If you haven’t seen Rihanna, you are definitely missing out… Katherine (Ultimate Rihanna)
